In 2009, he got into the international limelight by winning in the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition, Hannover, which is said to be one of the highest level of competitions in the world, at the age of 16, that was the youngest in its history.
So far he has performed with many celebrated orchestras, including Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, NDR Elbphilharmonic Orchestra, Hannover NDR Philharmonic Orchestra, and Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, and renowned conductors, including Dudamel, Gelgiev, Fedoseyev, Zukerman, Kristjan Jarvi, Vasily Petrenko, Hrusa, Denève, Cambreling, Inkinen, and Kazushi Ono. Recitals also got high reputation when debuting in Paris at the Louvre and debuting in London at Wigmore Hall. Has got more widely known to the public by playing the theme music of NHK Taiga Drama “Sanadamaru” and by being featured in a TBS documentary “Jonetsu Tairiku (Passionate Continent).”
In Suntory Hall ARK Classics, which started in October 2018, he was installed as Artistic Leader, by which he fulfilled his desire to superintend a music festival. As highlights in and after 2019, performances with many celebrated orchestras are scheduled: Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra conducted by Zukerman, German Symphony Orchestra Berlin conducted by Ticciati, Gotenburg Symphony conducted by Rouvali, Frankfurt Radio Symphony conducted by Estrada, WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne conducted by Poga, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Dausgaard, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra conducted by Litton, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra Tokyo conducted by Cambreling, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, etc. And more in and outside Japan: a duo recital with Pires, chamber music with Zukerman, chamber music with Bashmet, and recital tours in Spain and Japan. His CDs are released from Avex Classics. The 20th Idemitsu Music Award in 2009.
